SmartTooth
In 2016, we created the world’s first denture implanted with micro technology to monitor biometric data. Wearable tech is already catching on in many industries, but never before has a product been made like this. The GSK funded SmartTooth project provides a more accurate biometric reading as it comes from inside the mouth, to deliver data that standard watches and bands can’t compete with.
The guinea pig
With over 800 NHL games under his belt, San Jose Shark Brent Burns has seen his fair share of action. Along the way, he lost three teeth and earned one of the most famous smiles in the NHL. He became the first SmartTooth owner in the world.
FalSe teeth became a real advantage
SmartTooth measures heart rate, acceleration, and deceleration. It measures core temperature and recovery rate. And by streaming real time metrics straight to a smartphone, SmartTooth could help athletes stay on top of their game. It’s an advantage that people with a full set of teeth can’t get.
